Villa Bassarea

Villa Bassarea was established in 2014 in the city of Harmanli by three friends – brothers Todor and Kiril Bratanovi and technologist Kamen Koev. Driven by their shared dream of producing small batches of distinctive wines from local grapes, they combine modern technology with traditional winemaking methods. Their wines intertwine elements of Thracian history while also writing new chapters in the story of the Sakar region, emphasizing the local terroir and drawing upon the experience of established vine growers.

The villa offers a variety of wines, including the varieties Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Pamid, Mavrud, Tamianka, Muscat, and Viognier. Some of the vineyards are over forty years old, which imparts a unique character to the wines produced using classic technologies with a significant amount of manual labor. The main vineyards are located near the villages of Kolarovo and Izvorovo, and the winery itself is situated on the outskirts of the city, in close proximity to the Sakar enoteca, which is their newest project and where they welcome their guests.
