Oriahovitza

The Oryahovitsa Winery was built in the late 1930s by the Bulgarian-German company "Cyclop" and was designed based on a French model for gravitational product movement. It is one of only two completed projects out of a total of five planned. Today, the winery remains one of the oldest operational wineries in Bulgaria.

The building has undergone two previous renovations, neither of which significantly altered its original layout. In recent years, a third renovation was undertaken with the primary goal of restoring the winery to its original appearance. The capacity was reduced, and the gravitational handling of grapes, must, and wine was reinstated. They have preserved as much as possible of what their predecessors left behind. However, they have also implemented technological modernization of the winemaking equipment to meet all contemporary standards.
